What are Intentions
Intentions are an extremely valuable tool for working the law of attraction and accomplishing your dreams and goals.
They allow you to create clear ideas, desires, and wishes to send out to the universe so you can make sure you are attracting exactly what you want.
They are also a great tool to give you clear direction and focus. Which will help to change your thoughts/patterns, raise your vibrations and manifest your desires much easier and faster.
So, what is an intention? Basically, an intention is a statement of what you desire to have happen.
It is your way of letting yourself, your subconscious, your spiritual team, and the universe know exactly what it is you want, desire, and are willing to achieve.

When to Use Intentions
There are many times when the use of intentions can help you along your path to health, happiness, prosperity, and abundance. In fact, you can set an intention anytime you like in order to manifest anything you desire. And the more often you set intentions the faster you will be able to manifest and create the life you desire.
The law of attraction is a rather slow process. For the most part, things do not manifest instantly, and it can take quite a bit of patience and determination to create the big changes you want in your life.
More often than not, wealth and prosperity are not going to happen overnight. Changes in health will not instantaneously emerge. Your soulmate is not going to knock on your door the instant you decide that is what you are looking for. You get the idea.
Yet the law of attraction works the best when we are determined and unwilling to give up. So having your intentions manifest quickly is not only more fun, it helps you stay on your path and not let go just before the seed is about to sprout.
The more often you are setting intentions and experience the resulting manifestation, the more motivated and inspired you will be to keep going. So using intentions as often as possible is the best (and most fun) way to set yourself up for success.
Set Intentions For the Big Stuff
You want to be sure you are setting intentions for everything you desire and want to create in your life. You can set intentions for wealth and prosperity, to have good health or heal an ailment, to have what you need to feel fulfilled, loved, and abundant.
There is no restriction to what you can create and manifest with the law of attraction. Setting intentions will help you develop and create a clear vision for what you desire and propel you toward achieving even the biggest of goals and desires.
So, dream big and allow your imagination to soar into unrestricted realms of possibility. With faith and expectation set the intention to create and attract these things to you. Then follow up with your intuition and internal and spiritual guidance.
Setting intentions to change or create big life-changing things is the most common and well-known way of using the law of attraction. It is from the success stories of others manifesting great things and changing their reality that has given the law of attraction its popularity.
When done right, it simply works, without fail, even for things that seem completely out of reach.
When it comes to setting intentions for the big stuff in life, you will want to revisit and reset the intention about once a week. This will help you stay on track, make sure your intention is still in alignment with what you truly want, and reinforce the power of it in your life.
Set Intentions for the Little Things
Because of these success stories and the reputation of the law of attraction, many times, especially when just starting out, people aim high to achieve the big goals they are striving for – and that is wonderful. Setting an intention to get out of debt or fall in love is a great way to begin to attract such things into your life. And there is no better way to change your reality and fulfill your life purpose.
But what about the smaller things we are seeking? Such as having a good day, becoming more aligned with spirit, or attracting positive people into your life?
Setting intentions frequently for the smaller, everyday parts of life is an extremely helpful way to raise your vibrations. It also gives you practice setting intentions and ensures you are in the best place possible to manifest the bigger changes you are seeking.
By setting daily intentions for the smaller things in life, you will be proving to yourself and your subconscious mind that you are, in fact, capable of changing and creating what is in your life.
These smaller acts happen more frequently. And since they are simple and more obtainable you don’t need to worry so much about your ego and doubt interfering with your thoughts and expectations. Which teaches you, through experience, how to manifest without the usual blocks and patterns that sabotage so many of us. Practice makes perfect.
Not to mention it is these smaller things in life that are the stepping stones to achieving the bigger intentions you have. So, with each day and each intention you set and manifest, the closer you are to achieving the big game-changing intentions you may have once thought would be impossible to attract into your life.
So, set intentions for the big, reality changing things you want. But, in the meantime, ensure your success and hone your manifesting skills by setting smaller intentions any time you want or feel like.
Keep in mind, the more often you set intentions, the faster and more accurate your results will be.
Eight Ways to Set Intentions Every Day
The really great thing about intentions is you can literally set them whenever you want or need to. You can set intentions simply by using the power of your mind, drive, and determination. So you do not need to be limited by where you are or how much time you have.
There is no need to go to a gym or special place. You do not need to have any kind of set up or equipment. As such there are no limits. You can set your intention at any given moment. You can set an intention while at home, work or even while sitting in traffic.
In cases of your bigger goals, you’ll want to give all your attention to setting your intention in order to increase its power. And before you set those bigger intentions you will need to take the time to develop and create them. But it only takes a moment to set an intention for the little and more obvious things in life.
Here are a few ways you can focus on setting intentions every day, starting right now.
These are just a few suggestions, so let your imagination soar and use intentions every chance you get.
Remember every time you set an intention and get results you will also raise your vibrations, increase your motivation and inspiration to keep going, and, ultimately, be that much closer to manifesting the life you desire.
Set an intention for the day:
Set yourself up for having one of those days where everything goes your way.
Before you even get out of bed set the intention for what you want your day to be like. What do you want to happen? How do you want to feel? What do you want to accomplish?
I like to do this before anything else in the morning. Close your eyes and imagine the day going smoothly. Then, set any intentions you have for the day.
For example, you can say, “Today I will ___.” Or “Today will be ____.”
Ask your angels to be with you throughout the day and to help manifest your intention.
When taking a bath or shower:
Water is well-known for its cleansing and purifying properties. So why not set an intention to wash away negativity, blocks, thoughts, feelings, and past experiences that no longer serve your purpose as you wash away the dirt.
Set the intention to start fresh and anew as soon as you step out of the shower/bath.
Try saying; “My body, mind, and soul are clean, clear and free from obstruction. I now have a fresh and new perspective. I can and will achieve my desires.”
When meditating:
You can use intentions several times throughout your meditation practice. Set an intention to relax. Set the intention to clear your mind. And be sure to set the intention to allow spirit to come through you and communicate with you clearly.
If you are doing a guided meditation, such as a chakra clearing, use intentions to achieve your goal. Simply say what your intention is. Such as “My chakras are all clear, bright, and balanced.”
Additionally, whenever you say a positive statement during meditation, do so with the power of intention. You are not just repeating a phrase – you are intending for it to occur.
To Change the Way You Feel
One of my favorite ways to set intentions is to change how I feel. You’re probably aware of the fact that in order to manifest what you desire you need to raise your vibes and be in a positive state. But we all have moments of feeling “bad” and everyone experiences being in a “bad” mood sometimes. Hey, it just happens we are human after all. But you don’t have to let it mess up your entire day or change your point of attraction. In fact, this is one of the best times to set an intention.
If you are having a “bad day”, setting the intention to feel good and improve your day from here on out will turn things around. To relax during a stressful day, set an intention to relax your mind, body, and spirit. If you are feeling depressed, irritable, anxious, or frustrated, try setting the intention to feel happy, motivated, and experience only good things for the rest of the day.
You can also use intention to not let the little stuff get to you. “For the rest of the day, I will take everything in stride and maintain a positive attitude.” Or “I have faith that everything that happens to me, must be happening for a reason.”
Use your intention to focus on the positive, what you can learn from any given situation, and to keep yourself focused on going in the direction you want to go.
Change Your Body
You can use intentions to influence the way your body works.
One of my favorite intentions for meditation and relaxing is to say, “I am now more relaxed than I have ever been.” Doing so allows me to become extremely relaxed so my conscious mind is out of the way for the meditation I am about to do.
When it comes to our physical bodies such statements of intention are extremely powerful. Keeping in mind it is the brain that controls the body, so it is very easy to change your physical state by making up your mind and setting the intention to do so.
You can use such an intention to fit whatever you need for any given moment. Such as for more energy, more ability, or even more time in the day to get things done.
You can use intentions to help with physical ailments. Use intentions to heal your body in conjunction with any treatment your doctor recommends. Or for your body to respond more readily and quickly to any medication, you may need to take. As long as you are doing so under the care of your physician, you can even use intentions to heal enough you no longer need medication or treatment.
To Practice Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a powerful practice of letting everything outside of the moment go and becoming fully emerged in what is going on around you.
It is a wonderful practice for managing anxiety and mood disorders such as depression. Also for raising your vibes, learning to appreciate things you may tend to filter out in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and overall making you feel good about life.
Setting the intention to be mindful during your mindfulness practice will enhance your experience and make your sessions more powerful. Set an intention for each of your senses. Such as, “Now I will be mindful of every sound around me.” Then notice how many sounds come into your experience that you may have otherwise never noticed.
Before Going to Sleep:
There are many ways you can use intentions before going to sleep. Set the intention to sleep well, fall asleep quickly or have good dreams. You can set an intention to wake up at a certain time. Or to wake easily with motivation and expectancy for a great new day.
One of my favorite bedtime intentions is to communicate with angels as I sleep and to clearly understand their messages when I wake.
To manifest anything:
Use intentions to make things come into your reality. Anything you want applies here, the sky is the limit.
But don’t forget you can use intentions for the smaller things that make your everyday life a little easier, a little better, and help set you up for success.
Intentions can be set for anything you need, so when in doubt, just set an intention.
Here are some examples:
- When in traffic and you need to change lanes, imagine a space in the next lane appearing so you can easily move over.
- When looking for a parking space, set the intention to find one easily and quickly. See yourself finding the spot and pulling right in.
- Set the intention for your performance in tasks such as meetings, sports, or presentations to be even better than expected.
- Intend to find the best sales and coupons so you can stay within budget on your shopping trip. Or so you can afford the items on your wish list.
- Personally, when one of my children is upset, I will set the intention to say and do the right thing to help them feel better. This works with anyone and is especially effective when in an argument or disagreement with someone. Say, “I will do and say exactly what is needed to resolve and improve this situation.”
- Use intention to clear *crystals, enhance the use of *essential oils, when doing tarot/*angel card readings, while *smudging or anytime you want to cleanse, clear, or use something for a specific purpose.
This is really just a very small list of examples of how you can use intentions in your everyday life. The possibilities are endless. So reach for the stars and make your dreams come true. You are now well on your way to co-creating an amazing life limited only by your own imagination.
